Wrastor#980

  1. Why is Wrastor able to spawn another slipstream while his old one is not only still visible, but still active? This makes zero visual sense.
  2. Why is Wrastor neutral special able to fall through platforms during the ending lag of the move? This is inconsistent with other moves that send into freefall.
  3. Why does Wrastor get all of his jumps back after being thrown? I’m aware this is intentional, but that’s a lot of jumps to restore to the most aerially mobile character on the roster.

  1. His slipstream projectile is on cooldown, if he just lost access to the projectile forever while the stream was up it would suck. There should be better visual clarity for when characters cooldowns end in general though.
  2. His jumps are 80% of his recovery, if he got zetter forward thrown off and only got one jump back he is never getting back on stage. That goes for almost any time he is edge guarded. Every other character gets their jump back.

  1. I’m aware his jumps constitute most of his recovery, but he also has neutral and up special, as well as wall jump, down special to refresh his jump, and, depending on game state, can use his existing slipstream or throw out a new one to aid in his horizontal movement. He is by no means helpless if he doesn’t have all three jumps.

While he isn’t totally helpless, it’s worth noting that Wrastor’s jumps decay in the height he gains from them. If he’s used all three of his jumps and then gets one back (like from Etalus uair), he gets back his third and weakest jump, which essentially doesn’t gain him height. He also has no horizontal walljumpable move that the majority of the cast has. This means that he often loses insane amounts of height getting to the wall, and in a lot of cases where he’s very far off stage, more than he would gain from his walljump. He can often still make it back from something like a zetter fthrow, even with just the one very weak jump, but it’s the absolute max his recovery is able to do at that point and it’s incredibly linear and interruptible.
