The 1.5.6 patch added the “Airdodge angle rounding threshold: 12 degrees > 20 degrees” change, which I have felt impact my ability to perform precise airdodges / wavelands on platform when I’m trying to get a near cardinal but not fully cardinal angle.
As a Zetterburn player, the main way in which I’ve REALLY noticed this change is when performing Shine out of shield. specifically, when wavelanding back down to the ground in the left or right directions. When shining out of shield, sometimes, especially after the knockback change, I have to wavedash as far as possible in the direction of my opponent after shining them in order to be able to follow up. What this means is that - since I am airborne after performing the jump out of shield into instant shine into double jump - I have to airdodge back to the ground at a near cardinal but not fully horizontal angle. Since the patch, I am airdodging mid air fully left or right way more often than before, which, if I’m hit out of it, can get me killed since I have no double jump or airdodge. I’ve tried messing around with deadzone stuff to not get the full right or left but also find that this affects my Up B angles.
I think a simple fix would be to add a “waveland angle assist” control option, with the ability to revert it to the pre-patch 12 degree angle of specificity.
