Instant Get Up Attack / Special (Tech Attack / Tech Special)#963

To press attack or special the moment you land on the ground to immediately perform it, similar to a tech.

Why? Every time i tech roll or tech in place my opponent just grabs me or hits me and it feels like there’s nothing I can do about it. The game’s meta is too overreliant on a mechanic that doesn’t feel fun to deal with. The defensive options you have are too limited, you have tech in place, tech roll, or just miss a tech and some characters kill you at 30 for missing a tech, or just reading your tech with a strong attack.

Why else? I think that more people will want to play a game that has more defensive options rather than, ok you just have to eat 40% because they read your tech option. It feels like you can react to every option they have if you’re good at the game.

Why else else? I am kinda disappointed that this game plays too much like Smash. They announced Get Up Specials, Ledge Specials, and Special Pummels as the “things that differenciate this game from Smash Bros.” and they ended up being the most… useless things added? Top players barely use them, they might as well not be in the game. It’s as if they were added for the sole purpose of being there rather than being a actual important mechanic that everyone has to respect.

i dont think it’d be particularly fun in a game that ALREADY has cc/fh that you can do immediately after teching to have another option to punish your opponent for trying to follow up on advantage. not only this, but covering techs definitely isn’t solved, otherwise top players would constantly be 0tding eachother.

the defensive option is to not get hit, by spacing or reversaling with fh or spotdodging or shielding or parrying… its not defensive to reversal someone in advantage in the slightest, and we do already have a “defensive” option out of tech or mistech (cc/fh) which you can do during a mistech btw
