Whenever I’m first trying out a character (or when my internet is being crappy :/ ) I tend to play bot matches. Recently, I was playing Orcane vs CPU Loxodont to work on parry timing of meatball and down smash, as well as perfect shielding his back air. It’s awesome that we can train against CPUs (well, except on Air Armada where they repeatedly pineapple themselves), but theres a major flaw I’ve noticed:
As Orcane, my down strong was killing Lox super early. Like, 95% early. To the best of my ability to read those mini white DI arrows, it seems the CPU does not DI this move at all. This leads into a bigger issue: CPU DI sucks, and that can make it hard to get a feel for when moves will kill.
I’m sure this is not easy to fix, as CPUs need to be able to DI out of combos and to DI large kill moves. That said, the game does seem to calculate what perfect DI is (in order to determine if a move should purple or not). My suggestion/hope is that for suitably large moves at high percents (e.g. strong attacks taken while above 100%), the level 9 CPU will DI perfectly, or close to perfectly, so that purples are required more often than not.
I love this game and want its singleplayer, offline gameplay to keep improving, so this change would be much appreciated! Thanks for making such a great game :D
