
Slade looks INCREDIBLE in Rivals 2 but there’s a few inconsistencies and a few tweaks that might make the character look better. Ranging from very inconsequential to would help a lot.
Inconsistencies in Art and Model:
1: Slade’s fish hook on his fin is now silver, with the gold hook returning with one of the upgrades. Slade’s 2D art at the end of the trailer, is probably getting used in-game so it might help turning it silver.
2: Slade’s nails are now black on the model, but the 2D art at the end of the trailer are still a light gray (told you it’d be inconsequential.)
Model Tweak Suggestions:
Ignore the gold hook edit, that was before I remembered Slade’s upgrades appear on the model.
1: Slade’s eyeliner is much longer in all of his appearance, in the model they’re a lot shorter.
2: This is the part I think would really help the model. Slade has a much shorter snout in the model and making it much longer and flatter on the top would really help matching his other appearances more. Feels more shark-like.
3: Been seeing people say that his skin, coat, and boots are too saturated, not sure I agree entirely since Rivals 2 is meant to be a cartoony colorful game and it should be, but his skin has changed in hue and the clothes are much more saturated than they used to be, so maybe there’s a happy middle ground to be found.
4: Some have said that Slade is an oddly small in the trailer relative to other characters, not entirely sure if I feel that way but maybe it might help to make him slightly bigger.
5: Something about losing his chest gills in the model? I don’t know what that’s about but multiple people have brought it up lol.
9 OUT OF 10 EDIT!! You fixed a lot of the issue that we are kinda all having with him! Still not fully convinced on the color of his skin t’ho 🤔

They made it a grey fishhook so that it looks distinct from the Earthen Ring (Bronze ring with the green gem)

I really love when the community comes together to suggest changes in an upcoming character. The team has been responsive so far to basically every new character so they release in the high quality form.
I agree with all of these points!

I remember seeing someone in the past mistake Slade as a girl, and I want to bring the androgynousness of his face back, which you’ve done wonderfully with your edit.

Amazing edit! The only suggestion I have is to give him a black outline on his lips so his teeth can stand out more.

Completely agree with this! I thought he looked odd in the trailer having a shorter snout than in Dungeons, glad I’m not the only one
