Hitting side b offstage as Olympia while trying to recover kills her#139

I wanna start off with saying that I agree with the side b nerfs, she shouldn’t have had the ability to two distinct horizontal dashes on two different moves when it should be one of her weaknesses.

My issue with side b currently relates to how when your getting edgeguarded and you HIT someone with side b, you are in a very bad position to recover. Since this move already had a hitbox reduction already, I believe that olympia should be rewarded for managing to land a side b offstage. Since most aerials can already beat out the move since it is small.

My suggestion would be to refresh the down b air stall if you do manage to land side b, so you can have a better chance of reaching the wall so you can get your walljump without too much of a reduction in height. Or to give her back her double jump after she lands side b offstage. I think the new changes to grabbable articles would help complement this, as you could go for a dairing side b to grab a chair or something like that. (dont let her refresh resources from side b gem throw, thats just toxic).

Her Side B is in offense one of her driving forces offstage but in recovering it is her biggest flaw because getting a grab when recovering low leads to a further downfall from where she will very often get caught in the crossfire of recoveries or be outmatched because she has no resources when she should be the aggressor in this instance. It reminds me of a Up B Command Grab issue of a different character of another game.

Maybe we can get to be able to walljump earlier when we throw a character against a wall with it? Like a wall interaction? Or just less endlag for us and more knockback on the throw? This would already get us out of the heat or allow us to punish these approaches and still keep the followups doable with her. Her forward b is easy to challange with a hitbox so I think getting caught should be always in our favor.I know that this is her weakness but gimping feels always really unfair

The team agrees this is worth addressing but does not have a solution set quite yet.
