Can we please fix La Reina’s hitboxes#1038

There’s way too much limb intangibility on La Reina’s moves. Many times she will BLATANTLY beat out fully disjointed moves, it’s honestly extremely frustrating and visually unclear. I’ve attached an example. Clairens fully extended down air beaten by La Reina’s up special. This is just a single example and there are many others including her back air and side special as well, just don’t have pictures available. This specific case was just so egregious I had to make a post. I don’t understand why La Reina should have even a single move that would beat Clairens sword. It gets to a point where it seems unfair. Especially when you consider Clairens entire moveset was reworked due to being “frustrating to play against” but then there’s La Reina. Being rewarded for recovering because she has a disjointed up special that reaches above her. Really felt like this needed to be brought up because if there’s a reason why this happens so often than I would love to hear it so that i’m not left frustrated from having to constantly deal with scenarios like this.

Please. This is infuriating to deal with. I’d accept the usual grappler “put armor on it” over this so I can at least get damage. If you can adjust her limbs to be selectively armored, you get the best of both worlds.

agreed. tired of fighting this character and dealing with this. and literally everybody plays her. so hard to enjoy the game against randoms because they’re all either playing la reina or galvan and u have to deal with feeling like ur phasing through ur opponent. look at galvans nair hitbox. its !FULLY DISJOINTED! with an intangible tail at the end?? like come on yall.

If they do I feel like it would need a compensation buff with its speed or distance cause her up b as a recovery move sucks

@Andrew Legall Armor would be the better option, I think. You can shift the hitboxes back so they’re not ridiculously disjointed, allow her to trade, and keep the distance/speed the same. Making it similar to Etalus’ forward air so it decays with percent would also be an interesting way of handling it, so you can smack her out of it at higher percents (and she can wall tech anyway).

Agreed. I understand that she needs some amount of protection on some of her moves for them to be usable to recover and play neutral with, but the current state of her kit is very frustrating to fight against. The combo of unclear and unintuitive uses of intangibility and her being a touch of death machine makes interacting with her feel very risky and inconsistent.
